So many dogs need a home. Breed-specific dog rescues exist. We rescued one of our shelties from a sheltie rescue in San Diego and now we have an Aussie mix from A Home 4 Ever Rescue. If you are unsure, you may always start as a temporary home for a dog as a foster parent.
